Press and Media
Welcome to the official press and media page for Chasing Cats, an ongoing documentary photography and storytelling project focused on the world’s wild felines and the landscapes, people, and conservation challenges that define their survival.
This page provides background information, story context, and contact details for editorial features, interviews, and media collaborations.
About Chasing Cats
Chasing Wild Cats is a long-term wildlife photography and conservation storytelling project dedicated to documenting all of the world’s wild cat species in their natural habitats. This will result in the world's first comprehensive photo catalog of all wild cat species. These photographs will then be used in conservation impact campaigns to help protect the cats, most of which are declining in population.
Through photographs, essays, field notes, and film, Chasing Cats aims to raise awareness about wild cats that are often overlooked — particularly small and lesser-known species — while highlighting the conservation efforts working to protect them.
Project Focus
Chasing Cats documents all wild felines across diverse ecosystems, from high-altitude steppes and deserts to tropical rainforests, savannas, and temperate woodlands.
The project focuses on:
- Rare and elusive wild cat species
- Small cats that receive little global attention
- Conservation success stories and urgent threats
- Human–wildlife coexistence in shared landscapes
- Ethical wildlife photography practices
As of the latest update, we have photographed 34 out of the forty species of wild cat, hoping to conclude the project by the end of 2026. Many of the previous images involved weeks or months of fieldwork, often resulting in only brief glimpses, or only obtaining images through custom home-made SLR camera traps.
